Renewals extend from the current expiry, so buying early loses you nothing.

What happens when the update window ends. Nothing stops. The licence is perpetual: daxfr keeps replicating your zones exactly as it did, forever, on whatever version you have. You simply stop being offered newer versions until you renew. We will not break a production nameserver over billing.

Each licence activates one DirectAdmin server. A licence may be moved between servers — release the old one in your account, or let it lapse to dormant after 45 days without a check-in.

Questions people actually ask

Do the Proxmox secondaries need licences?

No. The licence covers a DirectAdmin primary. Run as many secondary sites behind it as you have spare public IPs for.

What if daxfr.com is unreachable?

Nothing happens. The licence is verified offline against a signed file with a 30-day window, refreshed on a daily check-in. A network outage never affects DNS, and is never treated as a revocation.

I rebuilt the server. Do I need a new licence?

No. Release the old activation in your account and activate the new one. If you forget, the old one goes dormant after 45 days and frees itself. Migrations get an extra concurrent seat for 14 days so both boxes can run at once.

Can I try it first?

Every check is read-only until you say otherwise: run preflight and --check against your real servers without buying anything. Paddle offers a refund within 30 days if it turns out not to fit.
