Terms, privacy and refunds

Licence terms

These terms are between you and Technical Advisory Group PTY LTD (“we”, “us”), and govern your use of daxfr.

What you are buying

A perpetual, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and run one copy of daxfr on one DirectAdmin primary server, together with any number of secondary nameserver sites serving that primary. Each additional DirectAdmin primary requires its own licence.

Updates and support

A licence includes 12 months of updates and email support from the date of purchase. You may install any release published on or before your update-window expiry date. When that window ends the software continues to function indefinitely on the version you have; you may renew at any time to resume receiving newer releases. Renewals extend from the later of today and your current expiry, so renewing early costs you nothing.

We will not disable, degrade or remotely stop software you have already installed because a support window has ended. The only thing that lapses is your entitlement to newer versions.

Activation and what the software sends us

daxfr contacts daxfr.com over HTTPS to validate its licence and to check for updates. It records a randomly generated server identifier, a hash of coarse hardware signals, the hostname, the requesting IP address and the installed version. It transmits no zone data, no customer data, and no DNS query information.

Validation is offline-tolerant: activation returns a cryptographically signed licence file valid for 30 days, refreshed on a daily check-in. If our servers are unreachable, or you firewall us off, your nameservers are unaffected — we never treat an unreachable licence server as a revocation.

A licence may be moved between servers. Release the old activation in your account, or leave it: an activation that stops checking in is released automatically after 45 days.

What you may not do

Share, resell, sublicense or publish your licence key; use one licence on more DirectAdmin primaries than you purchased; or remove or circumvent the licence validation. We may revoke a licence for any of these, and on refund or chargeback.

If we believe a licence is being shared we will contact you before taking any action. We do not automatically suspend paying customers on suspicion.

Warranty and liability

daxfr configures authoritative DNS on production infrastructure. It is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the licence in question. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

Run preflight and the --dry-run and --check modes first. They exist so you can see every change before it is made.

Governing law

The governing law has not yet been stated on this page. Ask us before purchasing and we will confirm it in writing.

Refunds

If daxfr does not work for you, email support@daxfr.com within 30 days of purchase and we will refund you in full. No justification required.

Refunds are processed by Paddle, who handled the original payment, and are returned to the original payment method. A refunded licence is revoked: the software stops being offered updates. Refunds after 30 days are at our discretion.

Nothing here affects any statutory right of withdrawal or cancellation you may have.

Privacy

Technical Advisory Group PTY LTD is the controller of the personal data described here. Questions, or any request below, to support@daxfr.com.

What we hold about you

Your email address, and your name and company if you gave them. A password hash — never the password itself. Your licence keys, encrypted at rest. A record of which servers activated them, and an audit log of actions taken on your account.

What the software sends us

On activation and on a daily check-in: a randomly generated server identifier, a hash of coarse hardware signals used only to recognise the same machine after an IP or hardware change, the hostname, the source IP address and the installed version. Nothing about your zones, your customers, or the queries you answer ever leaves your server.

Why, and on what basis

To perform our contract with you: creating your account, issuing and validating your licence, and delivering updates. To meet legal obligations: keeping order records for tax. And, on the basis of our legitimate interest in preventing licence sharing, to record activation counts and the addresses that check in.

Who else sees it

Paddle.com Market Ltd is our merchant of record and the seller on your invoice. They handle payment, billing and tax; card details never reach our servers and we never see them. Their privacy notice is at paddle.com/legal/privacy. We do not sell your data, and we use no analytics or advertising trackers.

Retention

Account and licence records are kept while your licence exists and for 7 years afterwards, for tax and accounting purposes. Activation records are kept for 24 months.

Your rights

You may ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, or export it, and you may object to processing based on legitimate interest. Email support@daxfr.com; we will respond within 30 days. If you are in the UK or EU you may also complain to your local supervisory authority.

Cookies

One session cookie, set only when you sign in, used only to keep you signed in. No analytics, no advertising, no third-party trackers. Paddle sets its own cookies inside the checkout overlay when you open it.
